First Underwriting appoints Simon Taylor as Commercial Director

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Simon Taylor as Commercial Director.

The appointment is part of our continued strategic growth investment as one of the UK’s leading specialist and scheme insurance MGAs to widen our portfolio and regional coverage.

This appointment follows a period of significant investment where we continue to build a diversified and specialist scheme and product portfolio, and strengthens other recent talent investments, including the appointments in 2025 of Chris Benstead and Dominic Kelly to lead the Real Estate Division, as well as a major technology transformation program to underpin the streamlining of processes and the development of new products as part of their growth trajectory.

Simon Taylor will support our underwriting and claims experts in enhancing our insurance solutions ensuring that they continue to meet the needs of our brokers’ customers whether consumers or businesses, further strengthening their commitment to help broker partners succeed.
